  • Evaluation of Fellow's Clinical Competence

The fellow’s clinical competence and procedural skills are evaluated on an ongoing basis by the pulmonary faculty, including written evaluations prepared at the end of each monthly rotation. In addition, the Pulmonary Fellow Evaluation Committee, consisting of the entire Pulmonary Division faculty, evaluates each fellow jointly on a semi-annual basis; this evaluation is reviewed with the fellow by the program director. The program requirements for clinical competence and procedural skills published by ACGME as well as the procedure for evaluation adheres to the guidelines contained in “Evaluation of Clinical Competence in Pulmonary Disease” published by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
