Dr. Pearsall’s specialty interests include cartilage transplantation, minimally invasive total knee replacement and all conditions of the shoulder. The University of South Alabama Orthopaedic Transplant Registry is an internationally recognized database that has approximately 140 patients registered who have undergone cartilage transplantation of the shoulder, elbow, knee and ankle.. Dr. Pearsall has published over 110 peer review articles, book chapters and abstracts. He has been an invited lecturer at Medical Centers around the world. Recently he was asked to return to the State of Bahrain to lecture and perform surgery. Dr. Pearsall has received over $150,000 in educational and research grants for his work.

Dr. Pearsall is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, the American Orthopaedic Association, the Arthroscopy Association of North America and the Alabama Orthopaedic Association. Dr. Pearsall was recently elected as one of 15 Leadership Fellows of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

Dr. Pearsall’s specialty research interests include: 1) arthroscopy of the knee, shoulder, ankle and elbow; 2) biomechanics and finite element analysis of rotator cuff strain; 3) articular cartilage transplantation and cartilage molecular biology; and 4) corticosteroid use in athletes.
