The University of South Alabama is seeking an outstanding academic cardiologist to serve as director of the Division of Cardiology and to lead expansion of the division in basic and clinical research and its clinical care and teaching programs. Three additional faculty positions for recruitment are immediately available, bringing the total number of faculty in the division to eight. The successful candidate must be an outstanding academic cardiologist with a track record of research productivity in clinical and/or basic research and of independent research support. Excellent opportunities exist for collaborative projects with the faculty of the Center for Lung Biology and/or faculty in the Department of Physiology. The University of South Alabama is developing a multi-disciplinary Vascular Center, which will include cardiology, cardiac and peripheral vascular surgery, interventional radiology, and clinical and basic research. The directorship of this center may also be available to the appropriate candidate.
