The University of South Alabama is seeking an outstanding academic pulmonologist to serve as Director of the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine and to lead a significant expansion of the Division in basic and clinical research. Three additional faculty positions are available for recruitment, bringing the total number of faculty to eight. The successful candidate for Division Director must have a demonstrated track record of research productivity and financial support in basic and/or clinical research and have the ability to lead and collaborate with others. The University of South Alabama has recently announced the formation of an interdisciplinary Center for Lung Biology to foster collaborative faculty research and to coordinate basic and clinical research with clinical activities. This effort has the strong support of administration and includes significant financial start up support plus very modern laboratory space.
