| Dr. Bassam was born in Lebanon, graduated from Aleppo University, College of Medicine in 1973, and completed two years of internship and internal medicine residency in Lebanon. He then completed a neurology residency at Wayne State University, Detroit , Michigan 1977- 1980, and fellowship in Neuromuscular diseases and Electromyography at Wayne State University, and Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota 1980 -1981. He is a former faculty member at University of Michigan 1982-1985, and joined the University of South Alabama 1985. |

| Dr. Bassam is Professor of Neurology, board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN), and subspecialty certification in Neuromuscular Diseases and Electromyography by the American Board of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine (AANEM). His academic focus and research interests is peripheral nerve and muscle diseases. Dr. Bassam had a lengthy national professional contributions and presentations, examiner, a member or chairperson of various professional national committees. His clinical responsibilities include; neuromuscular diseases clinic, director of the Electromyography Lab, patient's care, clinical research and teaching. |

A native of Mexico City, Dr. Lopez received his medical degree from La Salle University in 1983. He completed residency training in adult and child neurology at the University of South Alabama in 1997.
After a several-year stint in private practice, Dr. Lopez returned to USA as Associate Professor of Neurology and Director of Residency Training in 2003. His clinical areas of interest include stroke, headache, and epilepsy.

Born and raised in Rawalpindi, Pakistan, Dr. Mahmood graduated from Rawalpindi Medical College in 1991. After completing his internship in internal medicine and general surgery, he proceeded to England, where he cleared his MRCP-I examination.
Following completion of an internal medicine residency at the Holy Family Hospital in Rawalpindi, he came to the US, where he underwent residency training in Neurology, and fellowship training in Stroke and Cerebrovascular disease at the University of South Alabama from 1997 to 2003. |

| He joined the USA faculty as Assistant Professor in 2003. His areas of interest include stroke prevention, neurologic rehabilitation and clinical research. |

| Richard M. Zweifler, M.D. |

| Dr. Zweifler graduated from Tulane University School of Medicine in 1990 and completed an internship in internal medicine at the Ochsner Foundation Hospital from 1990-1991. He subsequently completed a neurology residency and fellowship in cerebrovascular diseases at the University of California at San Diego. In 1995, he joined the University of South Alabama as director of the Stroke Center. |

| As Professor of Neurology, Dr. Zweifler's responsibilities include direction of the USA Hospitals neurosonology laboratories and vascular neurology fellowship. His research areas of interest include acute stroke intervention, therapeutic hypothermia for stroke, and stroke prevention. He is the author of numerous peer-reviewed publications and several book chapters. |
