The University of South Alabama (USA) Stroke Center was established in 1995 with its primary mission of raising the standard of care for patients with cerebrovascular disease through clinical care, research and education, both professional and lay. Since its inception, the Center has been involved in over 30 clinical research trials of therapies for acute stroke and secondary stroke prevention. The Center enjoys a national reputation for its clinical care and research accomplishments.
