Free Parenting Classes Set for USA Children's and Women's Hospital |

University of South Alabama Children's and Women's Hospital will hold a series of free parenting classes on Wednesday nights during April to help parents learn about child development, safety tips, discipline strategies and more. The classes will be taught from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. in the Jubilee Room of the hospital at 1700 Center Street.
"As a children's hospital, we are interested in promoting the safety of all children and supporting parents in their endeavors to raise healthy children," said Leslie Carley, R.N., Education Specialist. "The classes are designed to teach parents techniques to deal with discipline, safety and health issues in a way that is developmentally appropriate for each age group."
The series will begin April 2 with a program focusing on infants from birth to one year. The class scheduled for April 9 will be specific to toddlers and preschoolers. On April 16, the focus will be on school age children . The April 30 program will provide parents information on dealing with adolescents . Parents can attend all classes that apply to their children.
