University of South Alabama Children's and Women's Hospital is offering teens and young adults a new program that will examine the consequences of underage alcohol use, drinking and driving, and not wearing seat belts. The presentation called Dare to Care , will be offered Saturday, August 2 from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. in the Jubilee Room of the hospital, located at 1700 Center Street, just off Springhill Avenue.

The program, designed by emergency room nurses, depicts how alcohol use and related behavior impacts families, friends and the community. Reservations are required to attend this free program and can be made by contacting the Family Learning Center of USA Children's and Women's Hospital at (251) 415-1069.

USA Children's and Women's Hospital also offers presentations of the Dare to Care program to schools, youth groups and civic organizations. An interactive presentation for grades 3-5 called Learning to Care , is also available that addresses issues including the use of alcohol, drugs, decision making and peer pressure among pre-teens.
