Burnham has been with the USA since 1989. She earned her bachelor’s of science degree in adult interdisciplinary studies at USA in 1988. She earned a master’s degree in library sciences from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1989.

In addition to this honor, Burnham serves as chair of the Medical Library Association Scholarship Jury and chair of the Southern Chapter of the Medical Library Association Communications Committee as well as a research mentor for the Southern Chapter. In 2002, Burnham won the Estelle Brodman Award for Academic Medical Librarian of the Year from the Medical Library Association.
