 Dr. Allen Perkins To Lead USA Family Medicine

Dr. Allen Perkins has been named chair of the department of family medicine at the University of South Alabama College of Medicine.
|

| Perkins has been a member of the USA College of Medicine faculty for more than 12 years. During this time, he has been heavily involved in many educational and clinical facets of the USA Health System, including serving as director of the family medicine residency program, and medical director for the USA Family Medical Center.

| Perkins graduated from The Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, La., and completed his internship with the Naval Hospital in Portsmouth, Va. |

Prior to joining USA, Perkins served as a staff physician at Portsmouth Naval Hospital and as an Undersea Medical Officer in Kaneohe, Hawaii.

| Perkins is a member of the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine, the Association of Family Practice Program Directors, American Academy of Family Physicians and the Alabama Academy of Family Physicians. His interests center on improving health care delivery to underserved populations in our region.
