USA College of Medicine to Host Conference on Obstetrics and Gynecology

| The University of South Alabama department of obstetrics and gynecology and the USA College of Medicine office of continuing education will host the 16th annual Continuing Education Conference in Obstetrics and Gynecology April 12-13 at the Mobile Convention Center. |

| The conference will focus on current topics of clinical relevance impacting the field of obstetrics and gynecology and women’s health. Some topics of discussion will include hormone replacement therapies, prevention of cervical cancer by vaccination, hurricane preparedness and shoulder dystocia. Also, information regarding diabetes and gastric by-pass, adult and maternal immunizations, and perinatal substance abuse will be presented. The conference will also emphasize how to best incorporate new medical findings into the practice of obstetrics and gynecology. |

Speakers will include faculty from USA, the University of Louisville, the University of South Florida, the University of Virginia, as well as the Alabama Department of Public Health, and MediNotes Corporation.

Accreditation hours have been approved for a maximum of up to 14 CME credit hours, 14 AMA PRA category 1 credits for doctors of the American Academy of Family Physicians, and 16.2 contact hours for nursing and social worker hours are pending for 2007. The Alabama Board of Nursing requires all nurses to bring their licenses to the conference to receive continuing education credit.
