| Dr. Cecil Parker was recently recognized by the Sickle Cell Center for his dedication and contributions to the USA Sickle Cell Center and the patients in our community living with sickle cell disease. |
|
| The recognition occurred during the recent 8th annual Sickle Cell Regional Conference in Mobile, at which time the event was renamed the Cecil Parker Distinguished Lectureship in his honor. |

| “We are grateful to Dr. Parker for all he has done and continues to do to improve the lives of those who are impacted by sickle cell disease,” said Dr. Johnson Haynes, director of the USA Sickle Cell Center. |

| Parker has practiced internal medicine in Mobile for more than 25 years. He is clinical assistant professor of internal medicine at the USA College of Medicine and serves as the medical director for Crowne Health Care Nursing Home. |

| In addition, Parker is also a member of the National Medical Association, the American Medical Association, and currently serves as treasurer for the Alabama State Medical Association. |
