Radiothon Rallies Support for USA Children’s & Women’s Hospital
| |
More than $87,000 in gifts and pledges was received during the 10th Annual Children's Miracle Network Radiothon supporting University of South Alabama Children's & Women's Hospital. The broadcast aired Nov. 24-26 on Lite Mix 99.9 FM. |
"Despite the economic challenges many are facing, our community once again stepped up for USA Children's & Women's Hospital,” Dr. Joseph Busta, vice president for development and alumni relations at the University of South Alabama, said. "We appreciate the support." |
“Everyone at Lite Mix 99.9 has a special relationship with us,” said Dr. Becky DeVillier, hospital administrator. “Through their efforts and the continuing support of our community and region, we will be able to further enhance the resources our young patients deserve and their families have come to expect.” |
During the Radiothon, children, families, doctors, staff and volunteers talked about their experiences at USA Children’s & Women’s Hospital as they were interviewed by Lite Mix personalities. Listeners’ pledges will help purchase medical equipment and enhance programs and services for children treated at USA Children’s & Women’s Hospital. |
| |
| In addition to listener support, expenses for the Radiothon such as pledge forms, envelopes, pens, banners and written material were underwritten by the Foresters, a national sponsor of the Children's Miracle Network. |
