ANDERSON RE-ELECTED TO ALABAMA HOSPITAL ASSOCIATION BOARD

MOBILE – Beth Anderson, administrator of the University of South Alabama Medical Center, was recently elected to serve another term as a board member of the Alabama Hospital Association. She will represent hospitals in southwest Alabama. |
|
“Beth Anderson continues to prove her dedication for health care, especially in Alabama,” said Mike Horsley, president of the Alabama Hospital Association. “Her continued support for our association and the entire industry makes her more than deserving of another term. I am confident that she will continue to do an outstanding job representing the hospitals in southwest Alabama.” |

“It is an honor to be chosen to represent the hospitals in the Southwest Council,” Anderson said. “I look forward to working with council members and the AlaHA Board of Trustees on the many challenges facing hospitals in this time of reform and change.” |

After receiving a bachelor of science degree in nursing from the Medical College of Virginia, Anderson earned a master’s degree in nursing from the University of Texas Medical Branch. She began her career in nursing, working in various positions at the University of Texas Medical Branch, Medical College of Virginia and Washington Hospital Center. She was promoted to director of nursing at the University of Texas Medical Branch and later joined USA Knollwood Park Hospital as assistant administrator. Within four years, Anderson was named administrator of USA Medical Center. |

In addition to serving on numerous association committees and as chairman of the Southwest Alabama Hospital Council, Anderson has been active with the United Way, served on the board of Dumas Wesley Community Center and serves on the board for the Homeless Coalition. |
|
The Alabama Hospital Association, based in Montgomery, is a statewide trade organization that represents more than 100 hospitals and numerous other health care providers by offering membership services designed to enhance the provision of health care in Alabama. |
