Dr. O'Leary accepted the position of Chairman of the Department of Surgery in July, 1989. In addition to his departmental responsibilities, Dr. O'Leary serves as Councilor for the State of Louisiana for SMA, is past president of the Association of Program Directors in Surgery, and is a Governor of the American College of Surgeons, and President Elect of the Louisiana Chapter ACS.
