The annual WAC workshop, which is open for all faculty, will be held on May 10th, 2010, in room 181 of the University Library. This workshop will begin at 9:00 a.m. and end at 4:00 p.m. Lunch will be served.
William L. Young, Director of the Writing Across the Curriculum Program at USA, will conduct this session. Once again, we will use John C. Bean's Engaging Ideas: The Professor's Guide to Integrating Writing, Critical Thinking, and Active Learning in the Classroom as our primary text. Copies will be made available to participants. The focus of the seminar will be "Theory into Practice." We hope to offer practical information on incorporating writing and critical thinking skills into your classes, along with tips on evaluation, revision, construction of writing assignments, and handling the paper load.
Applications are available through the WAC web site, or from the University Writing Center through the campus mail (AHE 207).
