CPT Hill is a native of Sylvester, Georgia. He enlisted in the United States Army on 10 August, 1993. He graduated from Basic and Advanced Infantry Training under the One Station Unit Training Program at Fort Benning, GA.
Following graduation, CPT Hill began his distinguished career with some of the finest units in the Army. As a young Soldier and Leader, his enlisted assignments were 4th Battalion, 15th Infantry Regiment, Fort Knox, KY, 1st Battalion, 187th Infantry Regiment, Fort Campbell, KY, 1st Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, Camp Casey, Korea, 2nd Battalion, 29th Infantry Regiment, Fort Benning, GA, 2nd Battalion, 19th Infantry Regiment, Fort Benning, GA, NCOA Drill Sergeant School, Fort Benning, GA, and 4th Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment, Fort Lewis, Washington.
CPT Hill was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant of Infantry from the United States Army Officer Candidate School in 2008 after serving 14 years enlisted as an Infantryman and achieving the enlisted rank of Sergeant First Class. After completion of the Infantry Officers Basic Course his first Commissioned duty assignment was with 2nd Battalion, 54th Infantry Regiment, Fort Benning, GA where he served as Echo Company Executive Officer. Other assignments include Platoon Leader and Battalion Logistics Officer in 1st Battalion, 15th Infantry Regiment, Fort Benning, GA, Platoon Senior Observer at the Joint Readiness Training Center (JRTC), Fort Polk, LA, Company Commander of Delta Company 1st Battalion, 19th Infantry Regiment, and Battalion Operation Officer for 1st Battalion, 19th Infantry Regiment. He is currently serving as an Assistant Professor of Military Science at the University of South Alabama.

CPT Hill earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Troy State University. His military schooling includes Primary Leadership Development Course, the Basic Noncommissioned Officer Course, Advanced Noncommissioned Officer Course, Drill Sergeant Course, Battle Staff NCO Course, Air Assault School, Airborne Course, Ranger Course, Basic Officer Leader Course, Infantry Basic Officer Leader Course, and Maneuver Captains Career Course.
CPT Hill’s military decorations and awards include the Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (1 OLC), Army Commendation Medal (6 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (8 OLC), Army Good Conduct Medal (4 Notches),National Defense Service Medal (2 Bronze Stars), Iraqi Campaign Medal (2 Bronze Stars), Korean Defense Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (Roman Numeral 3), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Ribbon, Meritorious Unit Citation; Both the Combat and Expert Infantryman’s Badge, Airborne and Air Assault Badges, Drill Sergeant Identification Badge, and Ranger Tab. CPT Hill is a member of the Sergeant Audie Murphy Club. He is also a recipient of the Infantry Order of Saint Maurice.
CPT Hill deployed and served in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (2007 and 2010).
