The annual USA High School Public Speaking Contest!

The University of South Alabama's Department of Communication is sponsoring the annual High School Public Speaking Contest on Thursday, March 19. This event is held at the university's Student Center. Students in grades 9-12 are eligible to enter the contest. Each student is asked to prepare a persuasive speech on the 2020 theme, "Who is one historical hero you would bring back to help society through a turbulent current event and why?"

The High School Public Speaking Contest is an excellent opportunity for students to receive experience and recognition for their public speaking skills. In addition, students receive feedback from college professors, communication department alumni and community representatives. The deadline to apply is February 19, 2020.
