Candidate Check-In Instructions for College Ceremony
The College of Education and Professional Studies Graduation Recognition Ceremony will be held Friday, November 20, 2020 from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the USA Mitchell Center.
Parking is available in the Mitchell Center Lot or any lot supporting the facility. Handicap parking is located in the Mitchell Center South lot (adjacent to Old Shell Road).
Student entry to the Mitchell Center: Entry 3 and Entry 4 will open 30 minutes prior to the start of the ceremony and are located on the lower or side walk level beneath the Waterman Globe on the north side of the building. Social distancing markers will be placed to ensure social distancing upon arrival from the exterior of Entry 3 out the sidewalk towards the Moulton Tower and from the exterior of Entry 4 out the sidewalk towards USA South Drive. All concourse entry doors will be locked to prevent entrance from outside.
Tickets will be distributed to graduates with their assigned seating through the Mitchell Center ticketing system. Students can expect to receive their ticket at least two days prior to the event. The ticket will go to their student email address for them to download to their Google or Apple passbook. It is recommended to download the ticket prior to the event. COVID-19 protocols will be in-place and followed to include wearing a face covering/mask and practicing social distancing at all times. Honorees will sit on the main arena floor with 6 feet distancing between chairs. Graduate (Master’s, Educational Specialist, Doctoral) candidates are grouped by degree and department. Undergraduate candidates are grouped by department.
Student Marshals will direct you to the front of the stage at the appropriate time. When your name is called you will proceed across the front of the stage and receive your diploma cover. A posed photograph of each graduate will be taken. Students will be allowed to briefly remove their mask for their graduation portrait. Student Marshalls will direct you back to your seat.

When the ceremony ends, graduates will depart the arena floor beginning with the back row and recess out through the corridors leading to Entry 3 and Entry 4 exits. Student Marshalls will provide directions.
