Teaching Philosophy
My teaching philosophy is based on the premise that all students can learn, and students should be treated at all times with respect and dignity. I believe in empowering students to become lifelong learners and to appreciate diversity in all aspects of life. My goal is to connect theory and practice while developing critical thinking, collaboration and communication through application-based active-learning pedagogies.
My research interests are focused on the Scholarship of Improving Teaching, Learning and Leadership. Specifically, they include the application of technology, instructional strategies that focus on active learning, and blending leadership styles, change strategies, democratic principals and practices along with specific instructional interventions to solve problems and build capacity.
