Bryan Styron is a Gulf Coast native and graduate of Biloxi High School. He has called
Coastal Mississippi his home during his entire food and beverage career. With over
12 years of culinary experience, he has worked in several casino restaurants and food
and beverage outlets along the coast. He has been an active team member of award winning
Chef Vu Nyugen
Born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Vu Nguyen began his arduous climb to become a chef from humble beginnings. He has held many titles from dishwasher, to host, then server, and eventually, kitchen helper where he began his ascension in the world of culinary arts. Albuquerque Journal recognized Vu for his hibachi excellence and named him #1 hibachi chef for two consecutive years and acknowledged his skills by labeling him “Sushi Designer.” Vu has since transitioned to the positions of Sous Chef, Chef de Cuisine, and Executive Chef. Vu has contributed his talent to several Gulf Coast casino restaurants. He has participated on winning teams for both a professional wild games gumbo competition and the Acadiana Culinary Classic in the salad category.
Though unconventional, Chef Vu dishes provide a new and refreshing twist on Asian cuisine and surprise even the most radical of diners. With more than 15 years of culinary experience, starting from home to a professional career in the casino industry, Vu has grown in his skills, kept his humility of hardship, and continue to love exceeding his own expectations as Scarlet Pearl Casino Resort’s Tournant Chef and in the culinary world. Needless to say, being a chef is more than a career to Vu. Vu may have worked hard to earn his title, but he had always held the life of a chef in his soul. He hopes to bring his love of Asian cuisines to those he serve, adding a little extra kick and comfort to his specialty dishes offered throughout the casino, catering to all tastes.
