Student Vaccine Incentive

As we look forward to a more typical fall semester, it is important that we all continue to do our part to stay South Strong. COVID-19 vaccination is our best tool to protect ourselves and others around us from serious illness related to COVID-19. We hope you've already taken advantage of the opportunity to be vaccinated at no cost to you through USA Health, our on-campus vaccine clinics, or one of the many vaccine sites available.

As an added incentive and in gratitude for protecting yourself and others, fully vaccinated students can receive $25 in Jag Cash after uploading their vaccination documentation to the USA Student Health secure patient portal or by emailing a photo of their vaccination card to studenthealth@southalabama.edu.

In addition, all current USA students who provide verified proof of full vaccination will be eligible to receive one of 10 All-Zone Parking Passes. That means 10 fully-vaccinated students will be able to park in any faculty/staff or student parking space on the main campus throughout the 2021-22 academic year. To be eligible, you must be enrolled and fully vaccinated; terms and conditions apply.

Here’s how it works:

Get your COVID-19 vaccine. COVID-19 vaccines are widely available. If you are in the Mobile area, USA Health provides vaccines at the Mobile Civic Center drive-thru site, and appointments are available at c19vaccine.southalabama.edu. South will also be holding on-campus vaccine clinics throughout the summer and during the fall semester. Dates and locations are provided below. If you are outside of the Mobile area or prefer a different vaccine location, search for vaccines near you at www.vaccinefinder.org.

Provide verification to Student Health by 9/25/21. Upload to USA Student Health secure patient portal or email studenthealth@ southalabama.edu an image of your COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card or a copy of your COVID-19 immunization record showing that you have received a full dose of an FDA or WHO authorized COVID-19 vaccine (i.e., one J&J dose or two Moderna/Pfizer doses). Please use your Jag Mail account and include your J# in the email. Medical staff will verify the record. If you have already provided documentation to Student Health, you do not need to take further action.

$25 Jag Cash will be added to your account. For those who submit verification prior to 8/1/21, funds will be available 8/15/21. For those who submit on or after 8/1/21, please allow 10 business days for the funds to be added. Incentive funds will be deducted from your Jag Cash balance first, even if you have current funds available or if funds are added in the future. Funds must be used by December 31, 2021. Funds can be used in all on-campus dining and vending locations, as well as with off-campus vendors who also participate in the Jag Cash program.

All-Zone Parking Passes recipients will be selected and notified. Ten (10) recipients will be selected at random and notified by 9/30/21. All-Zone parking passes can be used to park in any faculty/staff or student parking space. The vehicle must be registered, and the student must have a valid parking permit. The pass is not transferable to other vehicles or individuals. Game-day parking restrictions apply.
