About Me

I am a very proud native of the Chicago area, born and raised in the western suburbs (La Grange, IL). Although I call the great City of Chicago home, I have always had a deep admiration, appreciation and love for the Gulf Coast and southern culture. In summary, I’d like to consider myself a “Southerner” at heart! Having played 3 sports in High School (Baseball, Football and Basketball), I have always enjoyed having an active lifestyle and being outside when I can. Whether it be a summer recreational league in the City or training for my next race or marathon, there is nothing like Chicago's lakefront and taking in the elements (even in the tough Chicago Winters!).

Having worked in college admissions since 2009, the opportunity to represent USA in my hometown and communicate all of the wonderful things that make South Alabama so wonderful is an opportunity I truly embrace everyday.  Working with students and their families is truly a passion of mine. When the student discovers their "Fit" in the College Admission Process, simply-that is why we do what we do. Go Jags!

Education

B.S. Advertising/Integrated Marketing Communications, 2002

Southern Illinois University at Carbondale

My Favorite:

Place on campus

The beauty throughout the entire campus is simply breathtaking, but I'd have to say the "Resort" style pool deck at the Student Recreation Center that makes you feel like your on vacation. From the Palm Trees to the Cabanas to salt water pools- it's simply amazing.

USA Tradition

"Junk the Jungle" during Homecoming week!

Student's will "TP" the Traffic Circle on Campus as they all get excited for an exciting weekend of activities, alumni coming back and Jaguar Football!

Thing about USA

The reception and warm welcome that you will receive when you first come to campus. The excitement on campus and the sense of pride to be part of the University community. I have always said, South Alabama is the best kept secret in the Southeast. Once you visit, you will see why!

Place to Eat in Mobile

The Bluegill on the Causeway. Live Music, Island Eats and a Touch of Paradise.

Music

I absolutely love live music and going to concerts. Classic Rock from the 60s, 70s ad 80s, but can appreciate and almost dance out to anything I hear. Jimmy Buffett any day of the year is also a good bet for me.

Book

Frank Bruni's "Where you go is not who you'll be." An Antidote to the College Admissions Mania
