Week of Welcome...and Beyond!

You belong at Campus Recreation!

USA's Week of Welcome is designed to show new freshman and transfer students all the places you belong at South Alabama. Come join Campus Recreation to meet new people and get active:

Jag Trivia at the Pool
Sunday, August 15, 6:00-7:00pm, Outdoor Pool Deck at the Student Recreation Center
Test your wits and learn something new about your school at the same time! Jag Trivia will question your pop culture, your sports culture, and your Jag culture! We will serve popcorn and sno-cones while you lounge around the pool deck.

Group Fitness Sampler 
Sunday, August 15, 7:00-8:00pm, Fitness Studios at Student Recreation Center
Campus Recreation fitness instructors will hold several different fitness classes for an abbreviated amount of time. Try Spinning®, Yoga, BodySculpt, and more. Students will have the opportunity to walk in and sample the different free fitness classes that Campus Recreation offers weekly and meet some of the instructors. Free fitness giveaways! 

Color Rush Dodgeball

Sunday, August 22, 6:00-8:00pm, Intramural Fields

Let the paint fly! Students will dip, duck and dodge past dodgeballs covered in paint to survive and stay in this colorful game! Students are encouraged to wear white to the event. Come make a mess with us!

The Ice Cream Games

Saturday, August 28-Monday, August 30

20 Games, 3 days, Endless Ice Cream! Join your favorite student organization or group and get into the sweetest competition on campus. Compete in a variety of events for championship shirts and bragging rights for your organization or group. Kickoff the games with an exciting kickball tournament and ice cream! Outdoor Adventures

Get outside!

Registration is open for our Summer 2021 kayak and canoe trips! Explore the waters of Mobile Bay, Dog River, Dauphin Island, and more. Each trip can accommodate 10 people, has beginner-friendly routes, and allows for social distancing. Cost is $10/trip for students and $15/trip for faculty, staff and SRC members.

Our kayaks, mountain bikes, backpacks, and tents are available to rent so you can enjoy Mobile's outdoor opportunities on your own. Fill out the request form, then once notified you'll pick up your equipment from the Outdoor Adventure cabin. For more information, please email outdooradventures@southalabama.edu


Group fitness classes and personal training

Our SouthFit schedule for summer includes Spinning®, yoga, bootcamp, step, body sculpt, water aerobics, and more! No need to sign up. Just come to any class, any time.

Need motivation? Personal training is back! Our certified trainers are ready to help you start an exercise routine and focus on your health.
