Graduate Global Path to Success
Students wishing to enter a graduate program in one of the following areas can enter the University of South Alabama through the Graduate Global Path to Success (G-GPS):
- School of Computing
- College of Education and Professional Studies
- College of Engineering
When students enroll in the G-GPS program, they are able to begin working on their degree requirements in select fields while improving their English proficiency.
There are two routes into the G-GPS program:
Enroll in Academic English (Pre-Global Path to Success) classes at the ELC and meet the exit requirements of the program.
Apply directly to the G-GPS program.
Your current level of English proficiency will determine the path that you will take. See the admissions requirements below for more information.
If you are applying for admission to a graduate program at the University of South Alabama, you can enroll in the G-GPS program to meet the University of South Alabama's English proficiency requirements while taking select University classes in your field of study.

**The G-GPS program can be used to meet the English proficiency requirement for graduate studies, but you must also meet all other requirements for admission to the program of your choice.
As a G-GPS student, you will be eligible to take one or more approved classes in your field of study while continuing to develop your English proficiency. Student's are placed in GPS III or IV based on their English proficiency test scores.
