  • What is your major? Speech & Hearing Sciences
  • What languages do you speak? English fluently and learning Spanish
  • Where have you traveled in the U.S. and abroad? I have been to several different states in the U.S. such as Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Kentucky. I have also been to Mexico and the Bahamas.
  • What do you like to do when you are not studying? When I am not busy with schoolwork, I like go to the beach and spend time with my friends.
  • Why did you want to be a peer mentor? I was interested in learning about different cultures and becoming more culturally competent. the peer mentor program will allow me to do that while helping international students transition into the life of a college student in the U.S.

  • What is your major? Speech & Hearing Sciences
  • What languages do you speak? English
  • Where have you traveled in the U.S. and abroad? When I traveled abroad, I went to Peru and Brazil on mission trips. In the U.S., I have traveled to New York on mission trips. Also, during my vacations, I have been to Florida and Tennessee.
  • What do you like to do when you're not studying? when i am not studying, I adore hanging out with my dog! She is an Australian Shepard and she is my complete heart.
  • Why did you want to be a peer mentor? I wanted to be a peer mentor to help me for my future occupation as a Speech Pathologist. I love to interact with people and I hope I can help others become more comfortable here in the U.S.

  • Where are you from? Huntsville, Alabama
  • What is your major? Psychology
  • What languages do you speak? English and learning Spanish for the past 6 years
  • Where have you traveled in the U.S. and abroad? I have traveled to Atlanta, Georgia; Nashville, Tennessee; Miami, Florida; New Orleans, Louisiana; New York City, New York; Portland, Oregon; and a few other cities in the U.S. Internationally, I have traveled to San Jose, Costa Rica for two weeks to volunteer at a local daycare. I lived with a host family and shared a room with a girl from California, whom I still keep in contact with. One weekend, my friends and I traveled to Jaco to visit the Manuel Antonio National Park to embrace their beautiful beaches and unique wildlife.
  • What do you like to do when you're not studying? When I'm not studying, I enjoy listening to podcasts, thrift shopping, and going to the gym.
  • Why did you want to be a peer mentor? I want to become a peer mentor because I want to get to know people and cultures from different parts of the world and help people transition into a new community and environment. I am looking forward to meeting everyone.
