Campus Infrastructure Projects Digging in for the Summer
The University’s continuing infrastructure enhancements on the main campus will shift into a higher gear during the upcoming summer semester. Work is scheduled to begin in earnest on May 7, the Monday after spring commencement exercises. Here is a summary of the activities, with scheduled start and end dates.
May 7 - August 1: Access on road between USA North Drive to the College of Medicine Active Learning Center and the Baugh Biomedical Library parking lot will be restricted. Access to Health Sciences Building (HAHN) parking will be from University Blvd. Access to Medical Sciences Building parking will be from USA North Drive. Work includes installation of underground piping for HAHN and the future Simulation Building.
May 7 - August 1: USA South Drive will be closed between the Communications Building and Alumni Hall in various phases. Traffic will be rerouted through adjacent parking lots while this work is taking place.
- May 7 – July 1: The parking lot and service drive adjacent to the south side of the Bookstore and Student Center will be closed between May 7 and July 4. Deliveries can be taken at the Student Center loading dock during this time.
Also, several campus roads will receive restriped turning lanes along with crosswalk painting this summer. While all roads and parking lots should re-open by August 1, scheduled work is subject to change, especially if weather conditions require adjustments to various projects.
