Assistance during the Sorority Recruitment process is offered by a group of sorority women selected from each chapter on campus called Pi Chi's (recruitment counselors). These women are well-trained and impartial recruitment counselors who have enthusiasm and a sincere interest in the welfare of the women participating in recruitment. They are able to give you advice on the aspects of sorority and campus life. We highly encourage you to utilize them as your resource to Greek Life on our campus.
During the summer, Pi Chi's (recruitment counselors) "disaffiliate" themselves from their own sorority in order to work together from a Panhellenic perspective. Disaffiliation helps Pi Chi's to keep an impartial mindset while helping the women participating in recruitment. The Pi Chi's (recruitment counselors) have no contact with their sorority affiliation during Recruitment Week, and do not disclose their affiliation until Bid Day.
Each of you will be a part of a Pi Chi group led by one of the Recruitment Counselor. You will meet with this group throughout the week of Recruitment so be sure to take advantage of the opportunity to start building friendships with the other women in your Pi Chi group.
