The University of South Alabama is excited to announce Homecoming 2004 and invite Alumni, students, faculty, staff and the community to attend this annual celebration.
The fun and excitement of homecoming begin when the USA women’s basketball team takes on Arkansas Little Rock at 7 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 5 at the Mitchell Center.
Activities continue at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6 with a campus parade. Students will parade through campus starting at the Intramural Fields and ending at the Mitchell Center. At 6 p.m. a pep rally begins, followed by fireworks.
Later that evening, the laughter and fun continue with the comedy of Jim Breuer in concert at 7:30 p.m. at the Mitchell Center. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Backed up by his own heavy-metal band, Breuer will deliver a full hour of original stand-up.
He’s featured in the hit comedy “Half Baked.”Admission to Breuer’s performance is $10 for USA students, $12 for USA faculty, staff and alumni, and $16 for the general public. Tickets are available at the Mitchell Center Ticket Office, B&B Pet Stop, BaySound and at www.mitchellcenter.com. The USA discount tickets are available only at the Mitchell Center ticket office.
Super Saturday, Feb. 7 is Homecoming Day 2004, and the activities begin with The Hall of Fame Baseball Game beginning at 2 p.m. at Stanky Field. The Jaguar Baseball Hall of Fame participants will be available for pre-game photos and autographs.
The Homecoming basketball game tips off at 7:05 p.m. at the USA Mitchell Center with the USA Jaguars men’s basketball team taking on Arkansas State. Fans should wear South Alabama apparel and colors. The game will be regionally televised by Comcast Sports Southeast.
