The University of South Alabama Faculty Senate recently elected officers and committee chairs for the 2005-2006 academic year.
New officers include Senate Chair Dr. Douglas Haywick, associate professor of earth sciences; Senate Past Chair Dr. Stephen Morris, professor of political science; Senate Chair Elect Dr. Irene McIntosh, associate professor of behavioral studies and educational technology; and Senate Secretary Dr. Vaughn Millner, assistant professor of behavioral studies and educational technology.
Senate committee chairs elected were Dr. John Kovaleski, professor of health, physical education and leisure studies; Dr. Barry Nowlin, assistant professor of English; Dr. Deborah Spake, assistant professor of marketing and transportation; Dr. Nicole Flynn, assistant professor of sociology; Dr. Susan McCready, associate professor of foreign languages and literatures; Donna Wooster, assistant professor of occupational therapy; and Jan Sauer, senior librarian.
The USA Faculty Senate serves as a forum for discussion of issues vital to the academic mission of the University. It is also a direct link between the faculty and upper administration.
