The University of South Alabama will introduce the winners of its largest and most prestigious academic scholarship at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 17 at the Mitchell College of Business boardroom.
This elite group of 18 students, including six freshmen, are winners of the Abraham Mitchell Scholarship, endowed by the local businessman and philanthropist.
Abraham Mitchell and USA President Gordon Moulton will greet the students and their parents.
The latest winners have an average grade point average of 3.99 and a 30 ACT score, placing them among the top students nationwide.
The total value of these scholarships is $144,000. They cover tuition, books, room and board and fees. To date, the scholarships have awarded $1.3 million to 42 students.
