Mobile natives Anthony D’Lima and Norell Compton have been named the Outstanding Cooperative Education Students of the Year at the University of South Alabama.
D’Lima was honored with the Internship Award for his outstanding performance working with the Radio Shack Corporation for 15-20 hours a week along with attending classes at USA. A 2003 graduate with a bachelor of science in computer engineering, D’Lima is currently majoring in general management at the Mitchell College of Business and plans to graduate in the spring of 2009.
Compton, a computer engineering major, was awarded the Alternating Co-op Award, made possible with her work for Southern Power Company. She began her training there in December 2005, and is currently starting her third and last co-op semester with plans of graduation for December 2008. She is also a member of the Society of Women Engineers as well as Eta Kappa Nu, an electrical and computer engineering honor society.
