USA Professor Invited to Join Alabama Homelessness Advisory Group
University of South Alabama economics professor and director of the Mitchell College of Business Center for Business and Economic Research Dr. Semoon Chang has been invited to join the Alabama Statewide Interagency Council on Homelessness Academic Advisory Group.
The Council of Homelessness was created to solve and prevent homelessness in Alabama. It is composed of members from many backgrounds, including those from government agencies, private companies, non-profit organizations, service providers and academia. The Academic Advisory Group is a new addition to the ASICH and will serve the council in a consultative capacity.
Chang said, “I think we all need to help the homeless especially since many of them are veterans and females with children.”
Chang received his bachelor's degree from Seoul National University and his Ph.D. degree from Florida State University. He has authored or co-authored more than 50 articles in academic journals, published five books, and prepared numerous economic studies for public and private sector organizations. His most recently published book is titled Economic Sanctions Against a Nuclear North Korea. He was president of the Homeless Coalition of Mobile in 2000 and general chair of Mobile United in 2003. Currently, he is a panelist of the quarterly World Economic Survey by the Institute for Economic Research in Germany and a columnist of the daily Korea Times newspaper. |
