As many of you know, people from all over the state and nation helped out with hurricane damage in our area and are still doing so. We now have a chance to do some helping out for others in a similar situation. Enterprise, Alabama, a small town from which the University of South Alabama has many students, was devastated and they have similar needs to those hit by our hurricanes.
What you can do to help: One of our first-year medical students is going home to Enterprise for spring break and has offered to take any supplies our students, staff and faculty can donate.
What they need: School Supplies such as wide-ruled notebook paper, #2 pencils, spiral notebooks, black pens, highlighters, colored pencils, graph paper, calculators, folders, rulers, compasses and protractors, plastic report covers, etc. Anything a student would need is needed.
Items also needed include: hand sanitizer, cleaning supplies, soaps, toothbrushes and toothpaste, deodorant, non-perishable food, diapers, etc. Almost anything you can think of would be appreciated.
Remember, more than 350 homes were destroyed in addition to the complete school destruction shown on TV. Eight miles of the town of Enterprise were leveled, so anything we can do will help.
If you can collect any supplies, you may deliver them to the Office of Campus Involvement, Student Center 129, and Sally Cobb, Manager and Advisor of the Office of Campus Involvement, will contact our medical student, Jamie Caudill, who can get everything to Enterprise. Thank you in advance for any help you can give. Jamie may be reached at jbc302@jaguar1.usouthal.edu.
