The six new Mitchell Scholars at the Mitchell College of Business at the University of South Alabama were recently welcomed to campus by businessman and philanthropist Abraham Mitchell, and he gave them new laptops to begin the school year.

As USA's most prestigious scholarship, the four-year, $40,000 award includes tuition, room-and-board, books and a laptop computer. The Mitchell scholarship has helped 63 students since 1999. The newest group of Mitchell Scholars posed during a reception honoring their accomplishments.

At the event, Mitchell told the students, “Keep faith in your life. And when you are successful, remember your community and remember the University.”
