The 2009 University of South Alabama Faculty/Staff Annual Fund recently reported a record amount of gifts, with the total raised at $476,110. This is nearly a $12,000 increase from last year's record of $464,421. Some 70 percent of employees participated in the fund-raising drive, which includes 69 donors who pledged $5,000 or more over a five-year period. There were 65 departments with 100 percent participation and 726 employees who gave $100 or more. The winners of the drawing for the vacation getaways were Darron Haynes, ultrasonographer III; Christopher Shane Allen, Brookley golf course manager; and Sheryl Waltman, a word processing specialist at the Health Services Foundation.
At the recent celebration luncheon at the Waterman Globe, USA President Gordon Moulton congratulated the faculty and staff departmental representatives and the leaders of the Faculty/Staff Annual Fund.
