Dr. Charles B. Rodning, professor and interim chair of surgery at the University of South Alabama College of Medicine, was recently elected secretary and treasurer for the Alabama Chapter of the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Rodning is a long-standing USA faculty member who has received numerous teaching awards.
The American College of Surgeons was founded in 1913 to improve standards in care for surgical patients through continuing medical education programs and public education. The organization also works to maintain high standards of patient care by monitoring legislative and regulatory issues regarding the field of surgery.
ACS works primarily at the community level through its many state and regional chapters. The organization currently has 65 chapters in the United States and 35 chapters in countries all over the world. |
