The University of South Alabama Mitchell College of Business Center for Real Estate Studies hosted the Coastal Economy Outlook seminar recently at the Mobile Convention Center for a sold-out crowd of more than 300.

Topics included the U.S. and Southeast Economy, credit markets, coastal revenue projections, new capital investment, coastal business activity, employment trends and economic indicators.

The conference featured speeches from Dennis Lockhart, president and chief executive of the Federal Reserve Bank in Atlanta; and Dr. Martin Regalia, senior vice president and chief economist of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Washington.

Dr. Don Epley, director of the USA Center for Real Estate Studies, detailed economic indicators for both Baldwin and Mobile counties.

Other speakers included: Alabama Revenue Commissioner Timothy Russell; Robert Chappelle, executive vice president of the Mobile Area Chamber of Commerce; and Robert Ingram, president and chief executive of the Baldwin County Economic Development Alliance.
