Music Video Director Kevin James Custer will speak at the University of South Alabama on Wednesday, Oct. 14 at 9 a.m., 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., in the USA Library Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.
Custer, an eclectic artist and businessman, seeks unique and challenging opportunities. He has a sharp eye and passionate attention to detail, which makes his images engaging and widely respected.
Clients seeking Custer’s directing and editing work include MTV, The United Nations, UNICEF, Sony, Virgin, Columbia Records, DefJam, Discovery Channel, PBS and numerous others.
Custer has also enjoyed producing, directing and editing multiple chart-topping music videos and DVDs, PSAs and commercial media for a wide variety of acclaimed artists such as Soulja Boy, Angelique Kidjo, Busta Rhymes, Lacuna Coil, Jan Hammer, Keith Emerson, Ray J, Method Man, Testament, Flogging Molly and many more.
In addition to directing film, he also holds an MBA in finance and worked seven years as a senior analyst with the management consulting firm McKinsey and Company. This experience provided Custer with an extensive background in business strategy and development.
Custer enjoys speaking about his experiences as an artist, director, entrepreneur and financial analyst. He was recently a panelist at the CMJ Music Marathon and Film Festival held in New York City.
He is currently based in New York City, where he has lived for the past 15 years. When he’s not on set, he’s snowboarding, mountain biking or playing Frisbee.
