University of South Alabama first-year students and seniors will receive an e-mail from USA President Moulton in their Jaguar1 accounts on Tuesday, Feb. 8, requesting their participation in the 2011 National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE). Students will receive three additional announcements throughout spring semester with the survey closing on June 1.
The Center for Postsecondary Research in the Indiana University School of Education administers NSSE every spring semester to institutions throughout the United States. NSSE provides detailed information to faculty and administrators on student perceptions of and participation in learning activities and campus-wide events. NSSE also evaluates the quality of academic advising, relationships with faculty and staff, and students' overall experiences at the institution.
Participation in NSSE is important to USA because the information students provide can be used to make improvements to facilities, programs and student activities.
