USA Presents 2011 Gender Studies Lecture Series


The Gender Studies Lecture Series at the University of South Alabama will be held at 3:30 p.m., in the Humanities Building Room 150 on the USA main campus. The lectures are free and open to the public. Please see the following information:

• Tuesday, Feb. 8, Dr. Peter Jonason, assistant professor of psychology in the College of Arts and Sciences at USA, will speak on “How to Find a Mate? Solving the Mate-Shortage Dilemma.”

• Tuesday, Feb. 22, Craig Dosher, adjunct history instructor in the College of Arts and Sciences at USA, will speak on “ ‘And let the heart of Atys at last, at last be mine:’ Gay Culture in the College of William and Mary Chapter of the Kappa Alpha Order,1894-1898.”

• Wednesday, March 30, Dr. Elizabeth Richards, assistant professor of art history in the College of Arts and Sciences at USA, will speak on “Women and War: Materializing Blame on the Homefront.”

• Tuesday, April 12, Dr. Alethea Hill, clinical assistant professor in the College of Nursing will speak on “Perceived Stress and its Effects on Women’s Health.”
