Hargrove Engineers + Constructors, and 18 employees of Hargrove, recently pledged $95,000 to the University of South Alabama for naming rights for the executive board room within the Shelby Hall: Engineering and Computing Sciences.
Of this $95,000 pledge, the company pledged $77,050. The remaining $17,950 is from eighteen Hargrove employees, all but two of whom are USA graduates. The company chose to name the highly visibly executive board room, located on the third floor of Shelby Hall. The Hargrove Engineers + Constructors Board Room will overlook a beautiful outdoor fountain, and host both the College of Engineering and the School of Computer and Information Sciences board meetings, luncheons, advisory board meetings alumni gatherings, and more.
This gift will support the USA College of Engineering Excellence Endowment and the School of Computer and Information Sciences Excellence Endowment, two funds created to help the pursuit of academic excellence by allowing the deans to continually assess priorities and goals, and direct funding to special areas of opportunity and/or concern.
In appreciation for the generous donation, Hargrove’s name will appear on a plaque outside the room, and on the School of Computer and Information Sciences donor wall and the College of Engineering donor wall. As a part of the Shelby Hall Room-Naming Campaign, the company, and the contributing employees, will receive a gift recognition match from the University.
The Hargrove Employees that contributed to this gift are: John Horton Steber, James Steven McClure, P.E., Gary P. Roberts, P.E., Jeffrey B. Tapley, P.E., Charles R. Garrison Jr., P.E., John J.
