USA Diabetes Support Group to Host Cooking Demonstration

A diabetes support group in the University of South Alabama’s Our Neighborhood Healthcare Clinic will host a cooking demonstration featuring Carolyn Bivens from the Alabama Extension Agency on Tuesday, March 22, from 2-3 p.m. in the USA Medical Center 10th floor dining hall.

The diabetes support group demonstration is open to the public and will feature simple recipes and free food samples, including Italian beef stir-fry and double cornbread.

The diabetes support group is one of several weight loss and nutrition programs offered through Our Neighborhood Healthcare Clinic, a fast-track urgent care clinic that provides after-hours treatment.

For more information on clinic services, the diabetes support group or other clinic-sponsored programs and events, visit Our Neighborhood Healthcare Clinic online at www.southalabama.edu/nursing/onhc or call (251) 471-7944.

Our Neighborhood Healthcare Clinic is operated by USA’s College of Nursing and funded through a five-year grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration.
