The University of South Alabama Oozeball Tournament will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 16, at mud courts between the JagTran service station and the Grove. This year’s theme is “The Biggest Oozer.” The event is free and open to the public.
The mud volleyball tournament is the largest campus-involvement activity at USA. The teams consisting of more than 400 students, faculty, staff and alumni will play regulation volleyball in eight inches of mud. Oozeball is the annual “fun” raiser for the Southerners, USA’s student ambassador group.
The cost to register is $80 per eight-member team, which includes a T-shirt and lunch for each player. The deadline to register is Thursday, March 31.
The Southerners assist with recruitment, fund raising and alumni functions. The members also serve as role models encouraging fellow students to become involved in the National Alumni Association after graduation.
