Hundreds of Bikes Coming to Campus for Students to Ride for Free—President Gordon Moulton surprises Student Government Association President Kim Proctor, center, and Student Sustainability Council President Cassie Fambro with the first of several hundred bicycles that will soon be available for students to ride for free on campus as part of a new University initiative to adopt more environmentally friendly practices.  The free bicycle program is only one of a number of environmentally conscious practices the University plans to make as part of the new “green” initiative known as Jag Smart.   By riding bicycles to class, students can help reduce both campus traffic and greenhouse gasses.  The bicycle program is an idea students suggested in recent discussions with President Moulton.

University Unveils Logo for Jag Smart—A new Jag Smart SouthPaw logo will soon appear around campus, serving as a reminder of the University’s new “green” initiative.  Jag Smart is a unified effort to involve the entire campus community—faculty, staff, students, and administration—in environmentally conscious and sustainable practices in all endeavors of the University.
