A diabetes support group in the University of South Alabama’s Our Neighborhood Healthcare Clinic will host a series of free public lectures during the spring and summer.
The diabetes support group meets on the fourth Tuesday of every month from 2-3 p.m. in the USA Medical Center 10th floor dining hall. Upcoming lectures include:
- April 26, “Foot Care,” presented by USA Medical Center Infection Control and Prevention Specialist Larry Ezell
- May 24, “Getting Active for a Healthier You,” presented by Emily Beaird, Our Neighborhood Healthcare Clinic dietician and diabetes support group co-coordinator, and
- June 28, “Summertime Salad,” presented by Dr. Anita King, clinical associate professor of community mental health nursing in USA’s College of Nursing and diabetes support group co-coordinator.
The diabetes support group is one of several weight loss and nutrition programs offered through Our Neighborhood Healthcare Clinic, a fast-track urgent care clinic that provides after-hours treatment.
