The University of South Alabama National Alumni Association will be holding its annual alumni association meeting on Sept. 8 at 5:30 p.m. in the John Counts Room of the Mitchell Center. 

The members will vote on the 2011-2012 slate of directors and amendments to the constitution.

Assistant Director Amanda Gonzales said the meeting provides an excellent networking opportunity to both new and old alumni.

“This is an opportunity for members to meet the alumni relations staff, hear highlights of the past year and what to look for in the upcoming year,” she said.

Attendees will also have the pleasure of meeting Karen Edwards, ’80, the new alumni relations director.  For the past two years, Edwards has served as director of development at
Healthy Smiles, Healthy Children: The Foundation of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, located in Chicago.  Prior to that, Edwards served for 10 years as Spring Hill College’s director of major gifts and special assistant to then-President Rev. Greg Lucey.
 
Complimentary hors d’oeuvres and beverages will be provided at 5:30 p.m. until the meeting begins at 6:15 p.m.
