In commemoration of the 10th anniversary of 9/11, the University of South Alabama’s Center for Academic Service Learning and Civic Engagement will lead several projects on Monday, Sept. 12, as part of the National Day of Service and Remembrance, including the construction of two wheelchair-accessible picnic tables on campus.

The CASLCE is asking for campus volunteers to help with the picnic tables, which will be located between the University’s Humanities Building and USA Library. In addition to the campus picnic table project, students volunteering for the National Day of Service and Remembrance through the CASLCE on Monday will conduct a community workshop on basic computer skills at West Regional Library on Grelot Road, mentor and read to John Will Elementary students, and volunteer with the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
