The University of South Alabama will hold its annual Constitution Day observance on Sept. 16. The program will be from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. in Room 160 of the Humanities Building on the main campus.
Constitution Day is an annual event celebrated on campuses nationwide. Under federal legislation passed in 2004, all educational institutions that receive federal funds must present educational programs related to the U.S. Constitution in September of each year. These programs commemorate the signing of the document on September 17, 1787.
This year's Constitution Day program will detail cases to be decided by the United States Supreme Court in its upcoming term. The review will be presented by USA students and will highlight significant national issues to be addressed by the Court beginning the first Monday in October 2011. Admission is free and open to the public.
