USA Enrollment Sets Multiple Records

The University of South Alabama today announced a record 15,311 students enrolled this fall semester, representing a 428-student increase from one year ago.
 

USA this fall also set a number of other enrollment records, including a record 4,283 new students entering USA for the first time (these include new freshman and transfer students), and a record 3,466 graduate students.

 

In addition to numbers, USA grew in academic quality as well. The entering freshman class included 257 students with ACT scores of 28 and above, 165 students with 29 and above, and 116 with 30 and above. USA�s average ACT composite score was a record 22.9, which is above the national average of 20.9 and the state average of 20.4.
 

�Our record enrollment is a result of the hard work of our faculty and staff to provide our students with high quality, competitively priced academic programs in a vibrant campus setting that meets the needs and expectations of our students and their families,� said USA Acting President Dr. John Smith.
 

USA drew new freshmen from more than 300 high schools nationwide, with Mobile�s Baker High School producing the largest number of students in the University�s freshman class.
